Does my Institution have to be using iStream's RDC solution, iStream Deposit?

No. An Institution can use iStream RMS as a stand alone by simply feeding data files into our platform. 

Is the data in the system real-time?

Yes, if you use the full iStream RDC solution, there is real-time access to data and ability to run reports.
